Kara L. Heikkila

Kara L. Heikkila joined the law firm of Hall, Farley, Oberrecht & Blanton, P.A., as a senior associate in September 2008. Kara is a native of Idaho and returned to the state after working in the health care and legal fields in the northwest over the last 22 years. She received her B.S. degree in Health Care Administration with highest honors from Idaho State University in 1987. After that, she spent 11 years working as an administrator in the health care field in both Oregon and Washington. While attending law school, she worked as a human resource manager for a northwest health care corporation, where she was responsible for all aspects of personnel and benefits administration, workers’ compensation, and risk management. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 1997. Her program emphasis at Seattle University was employment law.

After graduating from law school, Kara worked for ten years in private practice in Washington, largely with a Seattle-based law firm, where she represented employers in Washington and Alaska in employment and work-related injury cases. Now home in Idaho, she maintains an active litigation practice in federal and state courts with an emphasis on employment law consultation and defense.

Ms. Heikkila is currently licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Idaho, Washington and Alaska, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Idaho, Washington and Alaska Bar Associations, Defense Research Institute, and the Idaho Association of Defense Counsel
